Travel

Talks will be held in room 1037 in the Delta building of the University of Tartu, Narva maantee 18, Tartu. The venue is within a 10 minute walk of the Town Hall Square and, within a 15-18 minute walk of the bus station.

Flights

The Tartu airport offers flights to and from Helsinki. If you are arriving by airplane from outside of Estonia your best bet is almost certainly to fly to Tallinn and then take the bus to Tartu from the airport (see below).

Coming from Tallinn

There are frequent buses from Tallinn (and from the Tallinn airport) to Tartu, departing every 30 minutes or so during the day. The bus trip from Tallinn to Tartu takes around 2.5 hours. Bus tickets must be purchased in advance from e.g., here. Your destination should be "Tartu Coach Station", which is a short walk from central Tartu and from the Delta building.

It is also possible to take the train from Tallinn to Tartu, although be advised that the there is no train station at the Tallinn airport, that the Tartu train station is significantly further away from the city centre than the bus station, and that the train journey takes approximately the same amount of time as the bus.

Coming from Riga

Lux Express offers a bus service from Riga to Tartu. In particular, on April 24th there are buses arriving at 10:55, 17:20, and 19:50.

There is also a new daily train service from Riga to Tartu, arriving in Tartu at 11:00. See here for the timetable.
